Hi, I'm Lee Stevens from Ezecurtains.co.uk.
And I want to show you today how to fit our straight tracks.Preparing for Installation
Now we're going fix it into a ceiling.
So this is the regular track and they're really simple to fit.
So when it arrived, it'll be, just unpack it, and it'll be ready to put straight up onto the ceiling. So let's have a quick look at that.
Okay, so, on this window here, we've got this window sill that projects out about eight cm's. So I've put some pencil marks at 10 cm's out from the wall here so that the curtains with the hanging will miss the windowsill.
So we've got one, two, three, little pencil mark that sit to the back of the track. So let's go and have a quick look now.
How we're going to get that track fixed to the ceiling. Okay, so I've got the track lined up now against the pencil mark. So the pencil mark is to the back. Now we're just going to drive the screws through the track and directly into the ceiling. That one's just gone into plasterboard so it's not a secure fixing. But we'll worry about that in a minute. I'm just going to get a few more of these into the ceiling.
Now that one's gone into timber. Really nice, solid fixing. We're really lucky on that one. So I'll do one more here. That's plasterboard again, that one.
So we'll just finish off the rest of them, and well, we'll have a little chat about where we go from there.
Okay, so we've got a screw in here on the end. And we're not really happy that it's into anything solid. So we're going to reverse the screw back out again. And then we're gonna slide the bracket over slightly so we can see the screw hole. And we're going to drill that hole with a six-mm masonry drill bit. And we're going to use one of the plugs supplied to fit that hole now. And we're going to slide the bracket back over.
Quite tough there, so. I'll just have a quick look now that we've got it in the right position. So we want to make sure the screw goes directly into the plug. There we go. Now we can put the screw back in.
Now that's a really good fixing up there and it's not going to go anywhere in normal use. Now you'll need to repeat that for any other brackets that you're not confident that are fixed well to the ceiling.
Okay, so we got the track fixed to the ceiling now. And it's nice and secure. We've plugged a few of the other ones that we weren't confident with and as you can see, it hugs the ceiling lovely, no gaps over the top. And it's just a smooth operating curtain track.
And the gliders will just swish from one side to the other and you'll have great working curtains. So I hope that was useful and thank you very much for watching.
